The first meeting of the LVH Fishing Club was held January 3rd at the Agate Beach Golf Club. We enjoyed breakfast, visited with friends and had a good meeting. Great way to start the New Year.

Hank Bryson gave a quick report on the Siletz Fish Trap and was lauded as our "Hero of the Month" for volunteering for almost every day in January. We all appreciate it, Hank!

Our most pleasant surprise of the morning was the standup comedy of Tom Roederer. His routine of the "Tylenol Tango" had all of us laughing. Thanks for the smiles, Tom.

We welcomed our newest member, Linda Reed. She is a true "fisherwoman" and does all us other women proud. Welcome, Linda.

The winner of the annual Salmon Derby was once again Kevin McCarthy. Wayde Dudley presented him with his certificate and displayed the new plaque with his name on it (again). John also offered his congratulations.

Second place winner was Dave Dinsmoor. He also received a certificate. Good job, guys! Both winners will receive a guided steelhead fishing trip donated by Ryan Miner. It is a great reward, Ryan, and should be incentive to all of our fishermen to win next year. Thanks. (Note: Ryan offers anyone in the LVH Fishing Club a steelhead fishing trip for $85. As this is about half the regular price, it is a great deal and we appreciate the offer, Ryan).
Sorry some of you couldn't make this meeting and hope we see you at the Golf Course for our first meeting in February. Also, don't forget our next meeting January 17th at the LVH Clubhouse. Phil Hager, member of the Federation of Fly Fishers and an expert on invasive aquatic species, will be our guest speaker.
