What follows are several issues the Club Officer’s will be speaking to over the closing months of the remaining year (2006):

(1) NEW CLUB OFFICERS---All of the Club Officers are tendering their resignations, which will become effective on the last Club Meeting of the year ,21 December 2006. This is in keeping with our Ethos of all Club Officers serving at the pleasure of the membership. It also allows for Club Officers who may wish to stand down to do so gracefully. To that end, effectively immediately all Club Members & Associates are encouraged to begin thinking about submitting nominations for all of the officer positions, i.e. (Pres.---V.P.---Ops.---Admin.---PAO). Big Fish will begin collecting your nominees, and we will prepare a ballot for a vote at our meeting on 16 November. All Members & Associates are strongly encouraged to be involved in this vital Club Process.

(2) BREAKFAST MEETINGS---Based on feedback to our recent poll. An overwhelming majority of you want to “test” holding the Club Meeting Breakfasts Monthly. To that end, beginning on 5 October and running thru December, we will hold the breakfasts monthly. At that time the New Club Officers will asses the situation, with your input, about how to proceed into the New Year.

(3) JOE LONGO AWARD---Poll results clearly support Charles Burke as the 2006 recipient of this years annual award. We will be presenting the award at our last meeting of the year on 21 December 2006.

(4) CLUB BALL CAPS---Sparky will begin taking orders for additional CBC’s. As you may recall, we will need a minimum of 12 caps to place an order. This will allow us to keep the cost of the caps at 10 Bucks each. If you want a cap let Ron Gibbs know or send an email to Big Fish.

(5) SALMON ON THE ALSEA---Stay tuned for more information. Big Fish is working with various Club Members, who own suitable boats, to coordinate this fun Fish Along Event. We hope to pull this off sometime during the last week of September.

(6) NEW POLL---We have reviewed all of this years Speakers, Field Trips, Events & Fish Alongs and now it is time for you all to give us your sense of what you would like us to try to repeat as we go into the new year. Big Fish will be putting this poll out to you in the not to distant future. We hope to give you feedback on/or before 7 December. We would welcome any fresh ideas you all might have for us to consider going into the New Year.

(7) ETHOS STATEMENT---You all are encouraged to take a moment and re-read our Club Ethos Statement. Does it, in your opinion, still accurately reflect what our Club stands for? Please feel free to give us any thoughts you may have regarding how we may be able to improve our Club’s relevance to “you” and other Members & Associates. This is especially important as we begin looking forward to the New Year ahead of us.
