MEETING & ACTIVITY SCHEDULE FOR >>> APRIL 2K10           

 

Hello to All >< April looks to be another very busy month >>>> Check It Out !!!!

 

1   April     Thursday       MONTHLY BREAKFAST MEETING     ( 9 AM at the Agate Beach G.C. Restaurant ) 

 

The Special Highlight of our meeting this month will be for us to Meet & Welcome the New ODFW STEP Biologist, Ms. CHRISTINE CLAPP. Please join us for this enjoyable morning event.     (Did I mention, that the 1st is also >> APRIL FOOL’s DAY !!!)

 

5   April    Monday          STAND-UP >< CAMP PALMER CREEK     ( 9 AM at the Palmer Creek Beaver Ponds )

 

We will be meeting in the LVH Club House Parking Lot about 8 AM, so that we can follow Frank Stout & his Trailer, to set up The Camp on Palmer Creek. Beginning about 10 AM, the ODFW Stocking Trucks will be arriving with the Steelhead Smolt, which will be planted in the 2 Beaver Ponds. We will begin “Baby Sitting” the 50,000 Smolt for about 4 days, at which time, they will be released to go into the Sietz River & ultimately find their way to the Ocean.         (Special Thanks to all of you who signed up, with Larry, to make this possible.)

 

7   April   Wednesday   2^nd QUARTER >< LVH FC BOARD MEETING    (10 AM at Camp Palmer Creek )

 

This is an Annual Event >< The FC Board Members enjoy holding this particular meeting at The Camp & follow it with a Picnic Lunch.

 

13  April   Tuesday      2^nd QUARTER >< ODFW FISHING CLUB VOLUNTEER MEETING  (9 AM at the ODFW Newport Office)

 

This meeting is an opportunity for the Central Coast Fishing Clubs Leadership to meet with ODFW Staff & Coordinate our various Stewardship & Sustainability Activities for the quarter ahead. We will be joined by Rick Booth, who will be opening discussion on the 15 May Eckman Lake Kids Fishing Day Event.

 

15  April   Thursday     GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING    ( 9 AM at the LVH Club House)

 

We are very pleased to Welcome RICK BROWN >< Rick is a Resource Management Specialist with NOAA. His career spans many years & He will share some of his experience with us, by giving us a “NOAA 101” macro-view of the many facets that make up this fascinating NOAA Organization. His visit & presentation are very timely, in that, we now know that Newport will ultimately be the New Home of the NOAA Maritime Operations Center for the West Coast. You don’t want to miss, what promises to be a most interesting meeting.

 

22  April   Thursday     BIG CREEK LITTER PATROL & FISHING “101” EVENT   ( 9 AM Gather at the LVH Club House )

 

What we hope to accomplish is a Macro Spring Clean Up on the Creek >< This is in preparation for a very busy Summer Fishing Season. In addition >< If there is adequate interest >< We will provide Fishing Mentors to assist our interested Lady Members with learning how to “Wet a Line” >><< Please Contact Larry Dale, if you want to be a part of the Fishing “101” Event. This will help him with resource planning, etc.

 

24  April   Saturday     LVH FC >< HOSTING THE LVH COMMUNITY BREAKFAST EVENT   ( 9 to 10 AM at the LVH Club House )

 

Hosting this Community Event will be a 1^st for our Fishing Club. What we will be doing is Preparing & Serving a >< $4.00 FISHERMAN’S BREAKFAST >< Consisting of Eggs, Hash Browns, Bacon, Toast & Coffee >><< Larry Dale is acting as our Event Coordinator & I am sure he would welcome FC Volunteers to Help with Hosting this Fun LVH Community Event. Event proceeds will go to the LVH Social Club, which provides ongoing support for our many & varied LVH Community Activities.
