Reports have it, that the New Clinic will be in operation on or about EOM July/August >&<< So It Goes !!!!

The aforementioned, were just the “High Spots” for this month >< My sense is that we not open the Tackle Box, but JUMP right into a look back at a couple of our MARCH Club Activities >>>>>>

We started off the month with a Terrific Breakfast Meeting >< We presented THUMPERS to our 2 Special Guests (Derek Wilson, Bill Sigler >< We also sent 2 along for Casey Deckard & Bob Buckman). Presentations were also made to all of the Trap Team Leaders >><< Special Acknowledgement needs to be made to Roger Wilson, who actually made the beautiful maple Thumpers & Bill Furgason, who did the LVH FC Engraving >>> What a Team & We Thank You Both. Moving on >< We spent a most interesting & informative evening with our CCFF Friends, who invited us to a Special Showing of a video entitled, RIVERS OF THE LOST COAST. Later in the month, Phil Reed arranged for us to have a friend of his, Jerry Dove, be our Special Guest Speaker. Jerry was joined by his pal, Jim Woods & they gave us great insight into the various significant Stewardship Activities currently being done by their Tillamook Angler Volunteers, who serve at the Whiskey Creek Salmon Hatchery. Did I mention >< Ellie LeMaster, Leading the Club’s recent involvement in the successful Oregon Spring SOLV Beach Clean Up >< Thanks to All who worked with “The Dynamic Duo” (aka Ellie & Bev Garvey) to make this a Fun & Positive Experience.

I would like to take a moment & recognize the Significant Contributions being made by our very own TRAP TRUCKERS. Of course, we are all delighted that Casey is slowly Getting Back in the Saddle & It is a Testimony to Casey, that the “Trap Truckers” carried the load to keep the 2K10 ODFW Trap Program Running in his absence. WELCOME BACK CASEY & SPECIAL THANKS TO THE TRAP TRUCKERS & TRAPPERS !!

It seems fitting, that we sadly close this month, by once again, extending our Condolences to Our Dear Friend Jack Scherer on the recent loss of his lovely wife Ginny >< Our Thoughts & Prayers are with you Jack, during this Time of Great Sadness.

APRIL looks like it’s going to be a Real Fence Hopper !!!  1st Crack Out of the Box will be a Fun April Fools Day Breakfast Welcome to our New ODFW Central Coast STEP Biologist >< Ms Christine Clapp >< Then, on the 5th, we move right into the Annual ODFW Camp Palmer SMOLT Plant at the Beaver Ponds on Palmer Creek. On this same day, Brian Hudson will be joined by some of our LVH FC Members who will be working with Newport Middle School Children as they do a Morning of Fishing on Devils Lake, followed by Lunch & a Visit to the Schooner Creek Fish Trap. This is always a Fun Day for the Kids & Most Rewarding for the Volunteer Mentors. In addition >< We also have several important meetings scheduled & a most interesting Special Guest Speaker, Rick Brown. Rick has a long career with NOAA & he will share some of his insight on this most fascinating Federal Organization. On the 22nd, Larry Dale will be coordinating our “Spring” Big Creek Litter Patrol ++ We will also be making available, a Ladies Fishing Skills Introduction at the Creek. Then, on the24th, we will be Hosting our first LVH Community Breakfast, in the LVH Club House. The proceeds of this $4 Buck Fisherman’s Breakfast will go to our LVH Social Club, which will help support their many & varied LVH Community Activities. As you can see >< SPRING is HERE & YOU are Encouraged to Join Us in our Many Spring Activities……… See Ya !!!!

I’ll leave you with this thought, which was sent to me by my Pal, Ben Davi >< “It may be >< That your sole purpose in this life time > is < Simply to be kind to others.”

Well, that’s the Top of the News as it Looks from Here >< Hope to See You On The Water >>>>>>>>  THE HOOK
