NOAA PROPOSAL TO HOMEPORT IN NEWPORT >><< NEWS TIMES ARTICLE ( 1 May 09 )

 

This very informative N>T> Article suggests, that this proposal could be a very real possibility. Our friend, Don Mann, General Manager of the Port of Newport, working closely with the Port Commissioners & Engineers, has been “Burning the Midnight Oil” on their Initial Bid Proposal.

 

They were just informed, by NOAA, that they would like Newport to do some additional refinements on their Original Proposal Package & resubmit the refined Final Proposal within 30 days. According to Don, this is a very positive sign, that the Port of Newport is a strong contender for this NOAA Homeport Plan.

 

To that end, Don indicates that it would be very helpful to include, with the resubmitted proposal, Letters & Emails from Newport Citizens who would Welcome NOAA & were Supportive of our Ports Proposal to accommodate NOAA as their Pacific Coast Homeport.
