Proposal to cut number of crab pots criticized

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has offered a pair of options to reduce the number of crab pots used by Dungeness crab fishers off the Oregon coast. Despite a months-long process emphasizing meetings with crabbers and industry input, the proposal that has emerged has elicited opposition from some members of the crabbing fleet.
