Second season
for trout

Memorial Day weekend marks the start of the traditional camping and boating season. This year it's also the opening of the state's "second" trout season, covering most rivers and streams that flow out of the Coast Range.
Those waters are kept closed for a month after the general trout season opener in late April so juvenile salmon and steelhead have a chance to migrate unhindered by anglers. The coast trout streams open Saturday.
